The Roberts era
Alex Milne is the artist most associated with the modern golden age of Transformers comics. The Canadian penciller became the visual anchor of IDW's More Than Meets the Eye and its continuation Lost Light, the celebrated James Roberts run that turned a robot war into a character drama.
Master of the ensemble
Milne's gift is the ensemble. These books carried enormous casts, and he kept dozens of robots distinct, expressive and on-model across years of issues, selling both the comedy and the heartbreak.

Legacy
More Than Meets the Eye and Lost Light are widely held to be the best the franchise has produced in comics, and Milne drew nearly all of it. He defined how modern Transformers look.
