Pre-orders for the Studio Series Deluxe Class Awakening Bumblebee opened this afternoon at $29.99. Hasbro Pulse carries him as SKU G58565X00, BigBadToyStore as product 197679, Entertainment Earth as item HSG5856, and all three listings had a live pre-order control on them when we read them this afternoon [1]. TFW2005 ran the official gallery at 1:05 pm Eastern with the price and the ship date still sitting in its own copy as the letter X, so every figure below comes off a listing.
The Autobot sigil on his chest has been broken into shards and scratches and painted a dark red, and the same defaced sigil is printed on the roof of the car. His eyes are red, not blue. The black cannon in the box carries a purple Decepticon sigil on its housing. Peg the cannon to his shoulder and the sigil sits where a faction badge would go [2]. Hasbro calls that accessory a fusion cannon and says it attaches in both modes.
The red Autobot sigil is still on his chest, scratched up and perfectly readable.
Hasbro’s own product page will not settle which side of that he is on, and the contradiction is two sentences apart in the same block of copy. The description opens: “This Evil Bumblebee figure is inspired by Optimus Prime: Awakening, the animated companion piece attached to the original The Transformers: The Movie film.” The first feature bullet underneath reads: “Add this animation-inspired Deluxe Class figure to your Autobot lineup.” Evil in the blurb, Autobot in the bullet, a scratched red sigil on the chest and a purple one on the gun. Hasbro has not said which of the two is wrong, and nothing else on the page settles it.
TFW2005 reads the figure as a retool of the Studio Series Devastation Bumblebee [3]. That one is still on Pulse at $27.99, and its copy calls him “the bold Autobot hero”. Hasbro lists the Devastation release at 4.25 inches and this one at 4.5, a strange quarter of an inch to find between two figures built on one mould, and it gives both the same conversion at 24 steps.
The step counts do not agree either. BigBadToyStore and Entertainment Earth both say this figure converts in 39 steps, in word-for-word identical description text, while Hasbro says 24 on its own page. Neither store matches the manufacturer, yet both match each other down to the clause, which points at a shared product feed.
The ship dates split the same way. Hasbro Pulse prints “This pre-order item will be available to ship on approximately November 1, 2027”. Entertainment Earth prints “Estimated to Arrive in NOVEMBER 2027” and agrees with it. BigBadToyStore prints “Estimated to arrive November 2026”, a full year ahead of the date the manufacturer has published. Anyone planning on November 2026 is planning on BigBadToyStore’s reading alone. Entertainment Earth says in its own words that it does not charge a pre-order until the item is ready to ship; what is at stake here is when the box turns up, not the money.
Studio Series has been drawing on the 1986 film for years, and this figure comes out of Optimus Prime: Awakening, the short we ran the teaser for earlier this month, and which got an early screening in the same week. The toy does make one choice the packaging copy will not. The purple Decepticon sigil went on the cannon, the red Autobot one went on his chest, and then somebody scratched the red one to pieces and printed it anyway.
A purple sigil on the chest would have read faster on a peg, and Hasbro has the tooling and the tampo to do it. This is the more interesting call!
