Yolopark has put two things on general sale this week that previously needed a convention badge to buy. The first is a Shattered Glass repaint of its AMK PRO Rise of the Beasts Optimus Prime, listed at $61.99 and showing in stock. The second is a pack of transparent Cybertron armour for the Bumblebee-movie AMK PRO Optimus Prime, at $9.99. Both were sold at in-person events before this, and the Shattered Glass listing went live on Yolopark’s own store on 15 October.
The contents are the standard AMK PRO complement and the listing sets them out in full: the figure, an Energon base and its stand, an interchangeable face, two articulated hands and six posed ones, an Ion Blaster, an Energon Axe, a pair of Energon Swords and a pair of Ion Hand Guns. Lighting runs on six LR621 button cells, and Yolopark says they are not included. The base carries its own Autobot badge, and Shattered Glass is the continuity where that badge belongs to the villains! The kit stands 20cm, it is rated 15 and up, it is built from ABS, POM, PVC and metal, and the page carries the same line we read on the Sentinel Prime listing last week: this is a non-transformable figure, robot mode only.
Both of those are direct prices, and the gap worth knowing about is not between the two decos. It is between Yolopark’s own store and the shop most collectors buy from. Yolopark sells the original Rise of the Beasts AMK PRO Optimus Prime, in its film colours, at $59.99, and the Shattered Glass repaint at $61.99. BigBadToyStore carries that same original kit at $99.99, with a waitlist button where the cart control should be. Yolopark sells the Bumblebee-movie Optimus that the $9.99 armour pack is built for at $64.99, and BigBadToyStore lists that one at $103.99, also sold out [1].
So a collector who wants an AMK PRO movie Optimus on the shelf this month is buying it from Yolopark. BigBadToyStore lists 86 Yolopark products and the Shattered Glass repaint is not among them. But there is one AMK PRO Optimus still orderable there this afternoon, the Generation 1 kit at $69.99 with a live cart control, though that is a different sculpt from a different continuity.
How many of the repaint there are is less settled. TFW2005 reports a run of 85 units, credited to a 2005 Boards member rather than to Yolopark, and the listing itself publishes no number at all. The key art carries a Limited Edition seal with no quantity printed on it.
The trade write-up gets one thing wrong. It says the armour pack can be bought “together with AMK PRO Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime for $64.99”, and the listing does not work that way. The pack and the figure are two variants on the same product page, and you pick one: the figure in Cybertron and Earth Mode at $64.99, or the transparent armour on its own at $9.99. The $64.99 figure already ships with armour for both modes; what the pack adds is a clear version of the Cybertron set.
None of that makes the pack a bad ten dollars. It does mean the pack is an accessory for a figure that one retailer cannot sell you today, and the shop that can sell you it is the same one selling the repaint.
The Sentinel Prime kit opened at $69.99 direct on 9 October and turned up at BigBadToyStore three days later at $89.99, and the direct order carried bonuses the retail one did not. If the Shattered Glass Optimus reaches BigBadToyStore at all, the Yolopark listing is where the cheaper copy was.
Rise of the Beasts gave Optimus Prime his best-looking toy design in a decade. This one is that design in the colours of the continuity where he is the villain, and at $61.99 it is in stock today. The purple is either a dealbreaker or it is not.
