The story

Optimus and Megatron settle ownership of a hydrothermocline inside a video game, with the loser's life forfeit. Optimus wins but, believing he killed simulated lifeforms to do it, orders programmer Ethan Zachary to execute him.

Why this issue matters

The death of Optimus Prime, one of the most talked-about issues of the run and a shock the cartoon would not deliver until the movie.
