The story

The recovered cassettes replay events four million years past: a pre-command Optimus Prime reaching High Councillor Boltax's temple and the Underbase, the sum of Cybertronian knowledge. Rather than let Megatron have it, Optimus fires it into space, and Ratbat learns it will pass Earth in a week.
