The story

Megatron in gun mode has Starscream impale Optimus and forces him to choose which of his friends dies. Omega Supreme arrives and waves at Starscream as he did before the war; the memory breaks Megatron's control and Starscream shoots himself in the head.

Finale of Daniel Warren Johnson's 24-issue run. Apparent death of Starscream by suicide (he is revealed alive in #33). Shredhead slices Megatron in half and cuts down Soundwave; the Matrix reactivates and Optimus is cured.
