Flame Toys has put the Shattered Glass Kuro Kara Kuri Ultra Magnus on preorder, and the number that should worry us is not the price. It is 1,000. That is the whole worldwide run, and it comes from Flame Toys’ own product copy rather than from a rumour. BigBadToyStore has it live at $499.99, arriving January 2027.

Shattered Glass is the mirror universe where our Autobots are the bad guys. Flipping Ultra Magnus is funny, because he is the one built entirely out of duty and paperwork. He still wears Autobot insignia on both shoulders here, which is the whole gag, and the deco goes much deeper into red and metallic blue than the standard Kuro Kara Kuri release we already know.

Two new sculpts, and a hammer that was locked away

It is not a straight repaint, and that is always the first thing we check on a limited run. Flame Toys tooled two new parts for it: a skeleton head, and a transformable sword. Both are exclusive to this edition.

The third accessory is not new, but it has been very hard to get. The hammer previously shipped only with the D4 TOYS exclusive normal-colour Ultra Magnus. If you missed that one (a lot of us did), this is the second door into it.

The sword does four things and nobody said so

Here is the bit that got left out of every writeup we read this week. Flame Toys’ own accessory sheet shows the sword in four modes, not one. Sword, Assault Combat Knife Rifle, Gun, and Flame Combat Rifle Sword, that last one firing a red energy blade off the tip. The sheet maps every hinge and rotation.

The LEDs are why you look twice

Kuro Kara Kuri figures light up, and here the glow reads purple against the blue and red plating instead of the blue we usually get. Flame Toys shot the same pose lit and unlit, which is the honest way to do it, and I did not expect the gap to be that wide!

He stands 8.26 inches (21cm). The build is ABS, PVC, PA, POM and die-cast, so a fair slice of your money is metal you can feel. In the box: the figure, an alternate face plate, a pair of shoulder rockets, four rocket containers, a pair of arm gauntlet attachments, the backpack, a blaster rifle, the hammer, the sword and a pair of shoulder cannons.

What it costs to say yes tonight

$499.99 is the sticker. BBTS’s listed price already folds in its tariff surcharge, and the listing says that surcharge can move with final tariff rates.

The checkout is the part that catches us out. This is a down payment item, so BBTS takes $100.00 non-refundable from you now, and your balance falls due when the figure is ready to ship. That is a commitment sixteen months out, and it is not a preorder you can quietly walk away from. Read the terms before you click.

Stock state is a live pre-order with Add to Cart on BBTS Mint. The SOLD OUT sitting next to it is the Substandard package grade, which is almost always gone on a premium item. It tells you nothing about the figure.

Weighing it against the rest of the shelf: McFarlane’s 23 inch Optimus Prime head replica is the other big-ticket thing at BBTS this week, and it is a third of the money. The Seeker Storm Pack closed last weekend on the same arithmetic we are doing here, a fixed run and a long wait. A capped edition is the purest version of it.
