Volcanicus needs five dinosaurs, and Blokees sells them one random bag at a time.
Blokees opened two Transformers pre-orders at Entertainment Earth on 3 November. The Volcanicus Combining Accessory Model Kit is $4.99, item BLK71420, estimated to arrive in January 2027 [1]. It is not a figure, and on its own it does nothing: sixty-one components, the joints and shells and backing plates that turn five Defender Version dinosaurs into one robot with a sword. But it is also the only way Blokees sells Volcanicus, because there is no standalone combined figure anywhere in the line. Blokees has done this twice before, with Devastator and with Bruticus, so the format is familiar to anyone who has already built one.
The other listing is the Defender Version 09 Power of the Prime case, twelve individually blind-packaged mini kits at $35.99, estimated December 2026 [2]. Entertainment Earth’s own copy names what is hiding in those boxes: Cryotek, Transmetal II Megatron, Acid Storm, Megatronus Prime, Solus Prime, Optimal Optimus, Prima Prime, Overlord, SG-Ultra Magnus, Slag in triceratops mode, Armada Optimus Prime in vehicle mode, and a Grimlock tyrannosaurus [2].
Blokees lists what Volcanicus actually requires, and every one of the five is sold separately: Swoop the pteranodon from Defender Version 08, Slag the triceratops from 09, Grimlock the tyrannosaurus from 04 or 09, Snarl the stegosaurus from 06, and Sludge the brachiosaurus from 07 [1]. Those five are spread across four separate waves, and the kit has nothing to connect until a buyer has chased down every one of them. Slag and the Grimlock re-release are inside the December case, which does not let anyone choose. Entertainment Earth prints the terms plainly: item selection is random, requests for specific items cannot be accepted, opened items cannot be returned, and you may receive duplicates [2].
The $4.99 is the smallest cost in this build, and the only part of it a buyer fully controls.
Blokees is at least honest about the dependency in its own art. The official product card for the Grimlock calls him the leader of the Dinobots and the torso of the combiner Volcanicus; the Slag card says he forms an arm [3]. Those are the two riding in the random wave. A reader who wants the combined robot and nothing else is, on today’s listings, buying a case of twelve kits for two of them.
BigBadToyStore does not carry either listing this morning. A search there for Volcanicus returns nothing at all, and a search across the Defender Version line returns sixteen Blokees products without a Wave 9 among them [4]. What it does stock is the two earlier combining kits, the G1 Galaxy Version Devastator and the Defender Version Bruticus, both in stock and both $9.99 [4]. Blokees has priced this one lower. BBTS carried volumes four through eight and has not listed volume nine yet, and these listings have a habit of appearing a week behind the announcement; we covered the CC28 Optimus Prime the same way in October, as a listing rather than a reveal.
The Skybound comic made Megatronus the Dinobots’ problem across issues 38 to 42, and Hasbro put a Studio Series Sludge up for pre-order yesterday at $59.99 for the single figure. Different scale, different shelf, same five animals. The Dinobots are having a year of it!
Both Blokees listings carry a live Pre-Order button at Entertainment Earth as of this morning, and neither charges until it ships [1][2]. The kit is orderable right now. The two Dinobots it needs out of the December case are not, at least not by name.
